The Absolut Colors Vodka Limited Edition Rainbow is a celebration of love and inclusivity, featuring classic Absolut Vodka inside with a bold, rainbow-striped bottle honoring LGBTQ+ pride. It tastes like the brand's signature vodka—clean, smooth, with subtle caramel and vanilla notes, and a fresh, fruity finish.
🌈 Highlights at-a-glance
-
What it is: 100% grain-based Swedish vodka, unflavored, 80 proof, presented in a limited edition Pride-themed bottle with rainbow stripes painted on the back—not a shrink wrap—part of Absolut’s ongoing support since the early 1980s
-
Design & Story: Inspired by Gilbert Baker’s original rainbow flag from 1978. This bottle celebrates diversity and Absolut’s historic ties to LGBTQ+ advocacy, including past collaborations like “Absolut Colors” (2014/2015) and a permanent “Rainbow” addition
-
Tasting profile: As you'd expect from standard Absolut—crisp, exceptionally smooth mouthfeel, gentle caramel and vanilla on the palate, leading to a fresh, slightly fruity, harmonious finish
🥂 Context & Cultural Impact
-
Long-standing allyship: Absolut has openly supported LGBTQ+ rights since the '80s, being the first spirit to feature a Pride flag on its packaging in 2008. Proceeds and campaigns, like the 2020 beach proposal film, actively champion real equality and expression
-
Bottle significance: The painted stripes on the back allow the rainbow to glow through the clear spirit when held up to the light — a subtle yet powerful nod to pride
✅ Final Take
This is classic Absolut Vodka in taste—ultra-clean, smooth, with soft sweetness—packaged in a thoughtful, Pride-celebratory design. Great for:
-
Everyday sipping,
-
Festive cocktails or shots,
-
And as a meaningful gift or conversation piece supporting LGBTQ+ inclusivity.
